Tips for the coming Full Moon

That will be Saturn near the Full Moon on Thursday night July 6. The Sun is high overhead now and the Moon is much lower on the horizon.

You may feel the tension brewing during the Waxing Gibbous moon phase the next few days building to the Full Moon.

For instance, I have a writing project that of course has an obstacle that needs an adjustment. I am letting part of it go, but the hard work completed can be applied to a different project. And voila! It is simplified and better.

SLEEP

Now through next week the bright light of the moon may keep you up at night. This phenomenon is one of the reasons I study the moon phases. Since I am so sensitive, I practice certain principles to be more comfortable during this time.

Head Position – Magnetics

One of the most interesting magnetic connections to sleep is to determine the best position of your head. I choose North and even rearrange hotel room furniture when traveling. This position aligns with the electromagnetic energy of the Earth. Head to the South also works for some people.

You have to try out the different directions and see what works for you.

CURTAINS

I use blackout curtains and they work really well. There’s still the magnetics of the Full Moon but it blocks the light interference for the eyes.

ELECTRONICS

There’s plenty of medical and scientific studies available to limit the use of electronics before sleeping. I banished them from my bedroom and only keep a small battery clock and one lamp for reading and dressing. Your mileage may vary!

ROUTINE

Everyone agrees that a simple routine prepares the body for sleep. Find yours and repeat. For instance, choose the same time of evening for supplements, finishing electronics, meditation, music, bathing, arranging the windows/curtains, reading a paper book.

I heard on NPR this week that the thinking about getting up to do a light task when you can’t sleep is revised now. It is recommended to stay in bed because it is a form of rest for the body.

SUPPLEMENTS

Find your sleep supplements. There are so many available as herbs and homeopathic remedies. I like to use a combination of homeopathic passion flower and herbal tea with German Chamomile fresh tincture and Wild Oats fresh tincture. As always, follow your doctor’s recommendations for any medical issues.
