“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”
– W.B. Yeats
People talk about how they wish their childhood had been this, or that, or better in some way. I would not change a thing about growing up in Michigan, Land of Lakes. We spent summers in a lovely cottage on a lake. Every Friday we would walk out through the corn field and wait for Dad to arrive for the weekend from the city. Swimming, fishing, climbing trees and making trails in the woods were the main activities. I was lucky to have a venue to let my imagination blossom inside of me.
I learned how to play by the rules in school and earned a degree in Interior Design in the great city of Chicago. Then it was time to go out and see the world and I landed in San Francisco, which will always be home in my heart. From there I ventured even further out to Peru, Brasil, India, Katmandu, and Phuket. My world view expanded and I was forever changed as a human being. I still remember the smells in Rio de Janeiro – leaded gasoline mixed with the sweetness of the people and the food.
My spiritual life expanded inside of me at the same time and I humbly thank all of my teachers along the way. From meditation, herbal medicine and reading auras to drumming with shamans, I learned to see the world around me through different sets of eyes – one set for practical everyday tasks and another set for the spiritual view behind and through it all.
My interest in the moon cycle developed from this expanded viewpoint. I learned about astrology and followed the moon through its phases with the daily astrology calendar. Then I noticed patterns in myself and in the people around me. Now, the flow of the wax and wane of the moon is a tool that I utilize daily.
My passion is to share what I know about the moon phases for practical use in everyday activities in the outside world, and a system for learning about ourselves on the inside.
