Moon Musings. Today, June 14, is what I call FM+5, or Full Moon + 5 days in the lunar calendar today.

What to Watch for FM+5 Moon Cycle Today

It’s called the Waning Gibbous moon.

Each moon phase day stands in relation to the whole 29-day cycle from Full Moon to Full Moon.

GIBBOUS

Gibbous means bulging when the Moon is more than half full in the sky. We are poised gracefully between the hard edges of the Full Moon June 9 and Last Quarter coming up June 17.

This rest period of opposing forces is called a Waning Trine in astrology-speak when the Moon is 120 degrees behind the Sun.

JUST FOR TODAY

The Moon Days book entry for FM+5 says, “Just for today let the anxieties ease up a bit. Be here now with whatever you are doing.”

It is coupled with tomorrow’s FM+6 that says, “Just for today be who you are, just as you are, right now.”

This is the harmonious rhythm in the order of the continous cycle of the Moon.

WHOLE CYCLE

We stand now opposite in the cycle from June 3-4. Seems so long ago, doesn’t it? These precious days in the lunar rhythm offer a short time to catch our breath and have a bit of a beach resort holiday in the cycle. We can relax and process the huge changes experienced recently.

WHAT TO WATCH

In the “What to Watch” section of the Moon Days FM+5, it says, “Letting go is the way to move ahead. Don’t resist the need for change.”

It’s a time to let go. The opposite choice is to hold on to past feelings and beliefs which will increase fears and pain. Better to choose a new vision now of a positive future experience.

Giving up, letting go, releasing – these choices open a new door of experience.

Understand recent choices that may have put you off the path and let it be okay. Forgiveness is the foundation of the moon’s rhythmic lessons. We get another chance. Time now to allow it all to settle and prepare to move on to a better adventure in the story of life.

How you experience this lovely rest period is different from everyone else.

It might be deep thinking or simply a restful enjoyment.

There is no wrong way to do it. We are all growing and changing at the proper pace.

A conscious acknowledgement of cycle offers assistance to choose which direction to go next. Consider where you have been and where you want to go.

Share a little of what you have learned along the way and others may find a positive inkling about their next choice, too.

My Full Moon experience this cycle was personally explosive! I got to examine deep emotions that I’ve carried my whole life. They had a good use for a while and I recognize that their value has changed as I have changed. Following the moon’s rhythm helps me to process it all. I welcome this mini holiday and am enjoying the release.

FM+5 Moon phase and Emotions

In the rush of what I call the “go-go” and “do-do,” we think that we are living in the present. Look! I go to work, do the gym, talk to my friends, call my mother and build a fence in the back yard. I am living in the present, you say.

Consider today what the driving force is behind the activities. For instance, going to work may be motivated by paying the mortgage, certainly, but it may also be a fear of what may happen in the future. Going to the gym may be fueled by a constructive sense of good health, or because Uncle Frank had a heart attack 30 years ago.

Just for today, let the anxieties ease up a bit. Be here now with whatever you are doing. What is the best part that has come of recent accomplishments? Consider that generosity can come back to you tenfold. Access high values and virtues.

FM+5 Moon phase and Mind

Be open to receiving spontaneous ideas while you start to relax. Schedule review time for the next week.

Do not resist the need for dramatic changes – rather, see your life and work flow like a river.

The waning moon is still an active time, but notice that how you think about plans and objectives is evolving. You may think differently about the plan now which is a catalyst to making some slight changes. It’s okay.

FM+5 Moon phase and Work

If you are not knee-deep in a mental predicament of some sort, then you are probably doing your best to ignore it. This is okay; ignoring it just means that you will get a chance to have a similar outlook again in another cycle and have the choice to face it then.

Maybe letting go of it will provide a new perspective. Here is an example. I hit this time period and found out that what I was working on was too complicated. I would work on it and get a big headache and then stop. I wrestled with it for several days and wondered why it was such a stumbling block. I was attempting to go deeply into a subject that was not worth it for the intended purpose, and it wasn’t working because I was trying to be somebody else. My decision was to let it go.

I looked for some tips from the experts and found my answer. Then, I could focus on what made me happy, which made me more productive.
