Moon Cycle Ramblings FQ+3 First Quarter Lunar Calendar Chart

Be sure to scroll down for Moon Days Tips!

Here are my Moon ramblings on this third day after First Quarter, the Waxing Gibbous moon, aka FQ+3 in my lunar calendar chart.

I am juggling the guidance of this moon day about two items on page 64 of Moon Days:

  1. Doubt is normal.
  2. Be active with an ease of knowing how to pull it all together.

It is generally easy to abandon daily attention to the moon phase days during this week before the full moon. It’s quite normal. This is a busy time with tasks and distractions, moving ever faster towards the magnetic changes between the Earth and the Moon that start three days before the Full Moon.

I’m working on a new project and am astounded at how easily these two seemingly opposite ideas actually blend together. The inner dialog goes something like this:

Lunar Calendar FQ+3 Moon Cycle Waxing Gibbous Moon Ramblings

On the one side with doubt:

Can I do this? Is it the right thing to do? Will it work out? Will anybody like it?

Tossed with a side of these exclamations of simply knowing:

It is right! I’ve been waiting for just this idea to make it work! Don’t lose it! Put it all together!

I marvel at how the moon phase days can be so accurate with my inner life. You know that I do not make this stuff up, right?

I stand on the shoulders of expert astrologers who came before me. I’ve distilled their teachings with my experience of this wondrous wheel of the moon cycle.

People like Dane Rudyar, Marcus Allen, Johanna Paungger, Ute York, and Rowena Pattee Kryder, to name only a few. There are many others. I salute all of you.

This week I came across a philosophy of ancient Greeks that held the Sun as the giver of life to the solar system, which makes perfect sense. Our bodies require light from the Sun.

They went further to declare that the Moon is the giver of life to our Earth. From a science point of view it is the tides that are regulated by the Moon that keeps the oceans and seasons in good order on Earth.

Science is all well and good, but it’s when I gaze up at the Moon hanging in the dark sky that it makes sense to my inner spiritual life that the Moon is the giver of life to those of us on Earth.

That nameless wonder I feel, a sense of connection, a mystery that the ancient peoples must have felt through eons of time. I can only imagine what it was like to have the moon and stars as the evening entertainment outside dancing with the Milky Way, telling stories around the campfire.

Anyway, back to the real world and wrestling with the moon phase day.

I know it’s normal to have doubts, but they are so compelling, you know? I practice letting them pass through like they are on a paper boat in a river. Hello to you, sir. Thank you for stopping by.

That perception that some call gut instinct or inner voice or knowingness. I know this is the right thing for me at this time for this project. It feels right.

This duality of doubt and knowing is the perfect example of the human experience with following the moon cycle, so if you are juggling them, too, know that you are in the exactly right place of this moon phase journey.

Thank you to all who have purchased a copy of Moon Days which is my version of how to live with the lunar calendar each month.

If you haven’t seen it yet, it has a two-page description of each day of the moon cycle which is used over and over again as the moon travels through the year.

There are journal prompts and topics to muse about. Each time around the cycle a different point of reference will spark attention, depending on current circumstances.

The explanations are brief. But this brevity does not mean lack of quality! I’ve pulled the most targeted points so that you can spend the most time on personal issues related to the themes of the day.

I write this post to let you know that I am following along the Moon Days with you most days of the cycle. I keep the paperback version open on my desk to the phase of day. It takes just a few seconds to glance over it. When I’m moving around in the world, the electronic version is easier to access. Either way, I never fail to find one thing that is exactly related to my day’s activity and emotions.

Our paths our different, but the cycle remains the same.

Here’s another tip. I’ve written multiple blog posts about each moon day and carefully tagged them. See link in the comments below.

Find the search box and type in the short version of the moon phase day, like these examples:

NM – New Moon

NM+1 – one day after the New Moon

NM+2 – two days after the New Moon

FQ – First Quarter

FQ+1 – one day after First Quarter

FQ+2 – two days after First Quarter

FM – Full Moon

FM+1 one day after the Full Moon

LQ – Last Quarter

LQ+5 – five days after Last Quarter

And so on.

I use six days for each week of the cycle.

Thanks again for your support! Blessings on your day.

Moon Phase Full Moon Lunar Cycle Today

FM. It is the Full Moon in the lunar cycle today. I hope you can view it tonight!

FM Moon phase astrology. Full Moon. Lunar Calendar. Notice if your full moon feels like a celebration or a disappointment, or no change at all?

FM Moon phase and Emotions

Notice if your full moon feels like a celebration or a disappointment, or no change at all.

CELEBRATION: you have consciously completed something. Even if it is not completed, there might be a portion of it that shows progress.

DISAPPOINTMENT: this means that it is the beginning of the end of something. Count your blessings: You have walked a hard road the last few weeks and now is the time to look around at how amazingly things turned out.

When emotions flare up in yourself or those around you, be aware of what is going on and turn trouble into peace in the best way that you know how.

Be gentle with others if they are having a “full moon experience.” Most blowups either have a good reason or they disappear if left alone.

FM Moon phase and Mind

Your original plan from the New Moon may have changed – for now, just notice the difference.

The best reward for a full moon is one that you give yourself, for a job well done, part of a project completed, a successful meeting, or a good financial report. If something is not done, acknowledge which parts are finished.

Feel the climax of the cycle building to its maximum. No matter what has happened in the cycle, know that you are a valuable human being. You are not a mistake. Gratitude for all that you have in health, wealth and good work paves the way for even more bounty ahead.

Recall a peak experience from the past. Did you win a race or a spelling bee? That’s the kind of “full moon” experience that you want to consciously cultivate in future cycles. Allow for a second chance the next time around.

FM Moon phase and Work

Savor the inroads you made while the world seemed to be “too much” as the pressure increased in the last week.

If you have had a success, realize that this was not achieved all in one day, and continue with your work plans.

Express appreciation to those around you to bolster your own sense of fulfillment and gain a valuable return yourself. Know that you have much to give others because of the work you have completed.

Find a safe outlet to release pent-up emotions.

Moon Phase First Quarter Lunar Cycle Today

FQ. It is the First Quarter moon in the lunar cycle today. See the half-moon high in the evening sky.

FQ Moon phase astrology. Lunar Calendar. The soul-searching is over. The waiting is over.

FQ Moon phase and Emotions

The soul-searching is over. The waiting is over. The nurturing and struggling to birth a new idea are over.

It’s time to act. It’s time to “Show me the money!” This means doing your business with whatever that means to you.

It’s up off the sofa time, time to move along.

FQ Moon phase and Mind

You know Cuba Gooding’s famous line from the movie “Jerry McGuire” in his role as Rod Tidwell, an egomaniacal football player.

Tidwell/Gooding hired Tom Cruise’s character, Jerry McGuire, as his sports agent when McGuire is fired from his regular agency job. McGuire ignores Tidwell, who is forced to take a paltry one-year extension to his contract, while McGuire is busy with another promising football prospect.

In a valiant attempt to get McGuire’s attention, he delivers the famous line, “Show me the money!” and makes McGuire repeat it out loud until his heart and soul are convinced.

That is today. It’s the First Quarter moon phase shouting out loud and clear!

FQ Moon phase and Work

Action is the name of the game; move forward on the details. Your work should feel more solid now, like you know what you are doing.

If you actually went through last week without a notion of what you want to do and confusion is setting in, use whatever means to settle your mind down to provide a direction. Sit with pen and paper and doodle ideas. Meditate or take a walk. Focus on the question at hand and see what comes up. If you sincerely ask and genuinely want to receive an answer, the answer will arrive.

Consider that your choice is the best one. Remember: if you don’t choose, someone else will choose for you.

There is a sense of impending victory in the air. Use it to your advantage to make time for productive work.
