What to Watch – The Moon Cycle Today FM+5

posted in: Moon Phases | 0

Moon Musings. Today, June 14, is what I call FM+5, or Full Moon + 5 days in the lunar calendar today.

What to Watch for FM+5 Moon Cycle Today

It’s called the Waning Gibbous moon.

Each moon phase day stands in relation to the whole 29-day cycle from Full Moon to Full Moon.

GIBBOUS

Gibbous means bulging when the Moon is more than half full in the sky. We are poised gracefully between the hard edges of the Full Moon June 9 and Last Quarter coming up June 17.

This rest period of opposing forces is called a Waning Trine in astrology-speak when the Moon is 120 degrees behind the Sun.

JUST FOR TODAY

The Moon Days book entry for FM+5 says, “Just for today let the anxieties ease up a bit. Be here now with whatever you are doing.”

It is coupled with tomorrow’s FM+6 that says, “Just for today be who you are, just as you are, right now.”

This is the harmonious rhythm in the order of the continous cycle of the Moon.

WHOLE CYCLE

We stand now opposite in the cycle from June 3-4. Seems so long ago, doesn’t it? These precious days in the lunar rhythm offer a short time to catch our breath and have a bit of a beach resort holiday in the cycle. We can relax and process the huge changes experienced recently.

WHAT TO WATCH

In the “What to Watch” section of the Moon Days FM+5, it says, “Letting go is the way to move ahead. Don’t resist the need for change.”

A few of the suggested Journal Topics for musing this moon phase are:

My letting go meter is High, Medium, or Low.

I lay in my virtual hammock and muse about…

I am grateful for…

It’s a time to let go. The opposite choice is to hold on to past feelings and beliefs which will increase fears and pain. Better to choose a new vision now of a positive future experience.

Giving up, letting go, releasing – these choices open a new door of experience.

Understand recent choices that may have put you off the path and let it be okay. Forgiveness is the foundation of the moon’s rhythmic lessons. We get another chance. Time now to allow it all to settle and prepare to move on to a better adventure in the story of life.

How you experience this lovely rest period is different from everyone else.

It might be deep thinking or simply a restful enjoyment.

There is no wrong way to do it. We are all growing and changing at the proper pace.

A conscious acknowledgement of cycle offers assistance to choose which direction to go next. Consider where you have been and where you want to go.

Share a little of what you have learned along the way and others may find a positive inkling about their next choice, too.

My Full Moon experience this cycle was personally explosive! I got to examine deep emotions that I’ve carried my whole life. They had a good use for a while and I recognize that their value has changed as I have changed. Following the moon’s rhythm helps me to process it all. I welcome this mini holiday and am enjoying the release.

Hope you are, too. Blessings on your day!

Prepare for a successful New Moon

Let’s gather in our comfy chairs and contemplate the waning moon for a few minutes. Sink back in the cushions and start to believe that you have all of the information that you need. We’re just pondering today and not taking any drastic actions. So, relax!

The moon cycle is a marvelous vehicle for processing very personal issues, creative goals, and even business strategies.

Grab a cup of tea or other favorite drink and let us muse for a while about this time and how it will work to benefit you during the next New Moon phase.

We are now at the end of Full Moon week during the waning moon. This is an important time! Now through the next week is the preparation time for the New Moon.

Now we think about the effects of what was created from the last New Moon JAN 27 and manifested at the Full Moon FEB 10.

Didn’t have any great plans for the last lunar cycle? That’s okay, too. This sorting out process is still useful to prepare for the New Moon FEB 26.

TENSION & MENTAL STRUGGLE

A new tension may be brewing now. It sneaks around in thought patterns and hangs out while doing other tasks. This tension signals an inner struggle about the effects of the last moon cycle, whether it was successful, or not. Even success has its consequences!

This mental pickle is related to something current in your life. I expect you know what it is. I often have three or four topics rumming around in my world and often more than one is on my moon cycle processing list. It doesn’t matter if you have one or more going on.

INSIGHTS

The point is that there are probably some insights bubbling up about the topic, without even trying very hard at it. Could be a personal issue, or a business one, family, relationships, hobbies, health, advertising, grooming, clothing, social, pets – anything! Only you know what it is.

This mental struggle and musing on insights is exactly where you are supposed to be.

It’s part of the lunar cycle.

It’s a signal.

EXPERIENCES FROM THE PAST

The signal of struggle, tension and insights is bringing up issues or bad feeling related to an experience from in the past, which continues to be the base of your reactions in the present.

It may be identified, or not. It may be enough to know that this is what is going on! Sometimes a specific experience can be named from a certain age. Other times naming habit or energy level is enough. Sometimes giving it a color is enough.

OPPORTUNITY

The most important thing is to recognize that it IS a Something to pay attention to. The thing about the moon cycle is that here is an opportunity. There is no report card at the end of the day. You can choose to participate in changing This Thing during the current cycle, or you can choose to do nothing at all about it and consider it during another one. The moon cycle is simply a framework available to use, and it comes around frequently.

Whatever you choose, allow the topic to come up for review.

There is nothing more to do about it right now. Just recognize that it is there.

Let it all simmer, percolate, evaporate – whatever is right for now.

It is part of the moon cycle and it’s okay.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Lunar Hair Chart for Feb 15 – 22, 2017

posted in: Lunar Hair Chart | 0

Traditional western lunar hair care principles hold that hair appears to grow back more slowly during the waning moon. That is the time now between the Full Moon and the New Moon. Tomorrow will be five days after the Full Moon.

COLOR HAIR – SLOWER GROWTH

The recommended signs to see slower growth after coloring or a chemical treatment are Taurus, Libra, Scorpio, and Aquarius. This week both Libra and Scorpio are the best choices for this hair care treatment.

Libra is wet, hot and semi-fertile. Libra is a Cardinal Air sign. Here the semi-fertile and wet classes make it useful for this goal.

Scorpio is wet, cold and fertile. Scorpio is a Fixed Water sign. Scorpio’s classes of Fixed and fertile put it in this category for hair care.

HAIRCUT OR TRIM – SLOWER GROWTH

For the goal of seeing slower growth after a haircut or trim, Sagittarius is the preferred sign this week with classes of Fire, semi-barren, and dry. Mutable astrological signs in the barren class are recommended as good days for a haircut.
