Be sure to scroll down for Moon Days Tips!

Here are my Moon ramblings on this third day after First Quarter, the Waxing Gibbous moon, aka FQ+3 in my lunar calendar chart.

I am juggling the guidance of this moon day about two items on page 64 of Moon Days:

  1. Doubt is normal.
  2. Be active with an ease of knowing how to pull it all together.

It is generally easy to abandon daily attention to the moon phase days during this week before the full moon. It’s quite normal. This is a busy time with tasks and distractions, moving ever faster towards the magnetic changes between the Earth and the Moon that start three days before the Full Moon.

I’m working on a new project and am astounded at how easily these two seemingly opposite ideas actually blend together. The inner dialog goes something like this:

Lunar Calendar FQ+3 Moon Cycle Waxing Gibbous Moon Ramblings

INNER DIALOG

DOUBT

On the one side with doubt:

Can I do this? Is it the right thing to do? Will it work out? Will anybody like it?

KNOWING

Tossed with a side of these exclamations of simply knowing:

It is right! I’ve been waiting for just this idea to make it work! Don’t lose it! Put it all together!

I marvel at how the moon phase days can be so accurate with my inner life. You know that I do not make this stuff up, right?

MOON RAMBLINGS HERE

I stand on the shoulders of expert astrologers who came before me. I’ve distilled their teachings with my experience of this wondrous wheel of the moon cycle.

People like Dane Rudyar, Marcus Allen, Johanna Paungger, Ute York, and Rowena Pattee Kryder, to name only a few. There are many others. I salute all of you.

This week I came across a philosophy of ancient Greeks that held the Sun as the giver of life to the solar system, which makes perfect sense. Our bodies require light from the Sun.

They went further to declare that the Moon is the giver of life to our Earth. From a science point of view it is the tides that are regulated by the Moon that keeps the oceans and seasons in good order on Earth.

Science is all well and good, but it’s when I gaze up at the Moon hanging in the dark sky that it makes sense to my inner spiritual life that the Moon is the giver of life to those of us on Earth.

That nameless wonder I feel, a sense of connection, a mystery that the ancient peoples must have felt through eons of time. I can only imagine what it was like to have the moon and stars as the evening entertainment outside dancing with the Milky Way, telling stories around the campfire.

Anyway, back to the real world and wrestling with the moon phase day.

FQ+3 DOUBT

I know it’s normal to have doubts, but they are so compelling, you know? I practice letting them pass through like they are on a paper boat in a river. Hello to you, sir. Thank you for stopping by.

FQ+3 KNOWING

That perception that some call gut instinct or inner voice or knowingness. I know this is the right thing for me at this time for this project. It feels right.

This duality of doubt and knowing is the perfect example of the human experience with following the moon cycle, so if you are juggling them, too, know that you are in the exactly right place of this moon phase journey.

MOON DAYS TIPS

Thank you to all who have purchased a copy of Moon Days which is my version of how to live with the lunar calendar each month.

If you haven’t seen it yet, it has a two-page description of each day of the moon cycle which is used over and over again as the moon travels through the year.

There are journal prompts and topics to muse about. Each time around the cycle a different point of reference will spark attention, depending on current circumstances.

The explanations are brief. But this brevity does not mean lack of quality! I’ve pulled the most targeted points so that you can spend the most time on personal issues related to the themes of the day.

I write this post to let you know that I am following along the Moon Days with you most days of the cycle. I keep the paperback version open on my desk to the phase of day. It takes just a few seconds to glance over it. When I’m moving around in the world, the electronic version is easier to access. Either way, I never fail to find one thing that is exactly related to my day’s activity and emotions.

Our paths our different, but the cycle remains the same.

Here’s another tip. I’ve written multiple blog posts about each moon day and carefully tagged them. See link in the comments below.

Find the search box and type in the short version of the moon phase day, like these examples:

NM – New Moon

NM+1 – one day after the New Moon

NM+2 – two days after the New Moon

FQ – First Quarter

FQ+1 – one day after First Quarter

FQ+2 – two days after First Quarter

FM – Full Moon

FM+1 one day after the Full Moon

LQ – Last Quarter

LQ+5 – five days after Last Quarter

And so on.

I use six days for each week of the cycle.

Thanks again for your support! Blessings on your day.

Lunar Hair Tip #4 – Condition

posted in: Lunar Hair Chart | 0

Lunar hair care principles for conditioning call for specific astrological signs.

Lunar Hair Tip #4 - Condition Hair

Not everyone agrees exactly on when to condition hair with a lunar hair chart. Some say to apply moisture when the moon is in a fertile or semi-fertile class of sign presumably with the theory of “like begets like” with the property of absorption. However, many more experts on lunar hair care vote to add the wetness during barren and semi-barren signs.

Two semi-barren signs stand out for their dry, hot classes with the quality of Fire: Aries and Sagittarius.

The next two barren signs of Gemini (wet, Air) and Leo (dry, Fire) are added. Both are classed as hot.

Aquarius is added for classes of semi-barren and hot.

You may wonder, as I did, why not Virgo? While it is in the barren class, its Earth quality leaves it out. Virgo is also classes as cold which does not fit with the other hot astrological signs.

Why not Libra? It is Air like Gemini, but is semi-fertile and already classed with moisture. Libra does not offer the required qualities of the other signs.

One thing that all agree on for lunar hair care is that the best phase is the waxing moon as the right time of the moon cycle to condition hair.

Aries, Gemini, Leo, Sagittarius, and Aquarius are the qualified astrological signs to choose during the waxing moon for conditioning hair.

Specific dates for conditioning hair with these signs are in the Lunar Hair 2017 book on Amazon.

Lunar Hair Tip #3 – Faster Growth

posted in: Lunar Hair Chart | 0

Are you trying to grow your hair out faster? Lunar hair cutting principles hold that the prime criteria for faster growth after a haircut or trim is the waxing moon phase.

Lunar Hair Chart: find out which signs work for faster growth.

The simple act of cutting hair according to the lunar rhythm has the longest history in folklore. From Roman historical books depicting ancient knowledge up to 19th century rural America, shared wisdom was passed from generation to generation by word of mouth and in printed almanacs along with gardening and husbandry advice for the homestead farmer. Mere superstition faded out over the generations to leave us with principles to prove out with modern experience.

History records that sheep farmers, whose livelihood depended on knowing such things, found that cutting wool during the waxing moon ensured strong growth for the next cut.

Can we compare sheep’s wool to human haircuts? One answer from this historic information applied to human hair may be that a trim or cut removes the split ends and produces a clean, blunt end. Once the breakage is gone, the hair appears stronger as it grows at its normal rate. There are strong debates on both sides of this issue.

For seeing faster growth after a haircut or trim, the moon phase is the most quoted criteria for lunar hair cutting , which is the waxing moon. Half the reputable sources then agree that any New Moon day and the beginning of the waxing phase during the week after the New Moon has the best qualification.

New Moon week is the best part of the waxing phase for

seeing faster growth after a haircut or trim.

That’s where the agreement ends.

When all of the votes for astrological signs are tallied from western folklore and reputable astrologers, the class of fertile and semi-fertile signs that are cold win out for this category of seeing faster growth during the waxing moon. These signs are Capricorn, Taurus and Scorpio.

Another semi-fertile sign of Libra is included for this category.

Choose both the waxing moon phase (especially New Moon Week) and the signs of either Capricorn, Taurus or Scorpio for the best results.
